SPEECH ARTICULATION
Speech articulation refers to the way speech sounds are formed and produced. When someone is having difficulty articulating, it often occurs because a person substitutes one sound for another, distorts a sound or omits a sound all together. When speech errors are noticeable and persistent the speakers often start to feel that they are not understood by others. Articulation difficulties can also lead to difficulty with reading acquisition, academic struggles and low self perception. This is why the Speech Language Pathologists at Lakeland are so interested in helping their students improve speech articulation.
