Vocabulary
Supporting the development of a rich and robust vocabulary for our students is very important to the teachers and speech therapists at Lakeland. Vocabulary can be divided into receptive vocabulary (what our students understand) and expressive vocabulary (the words a student uses when he/she speaks). Given the educational research that shows vocabulary strongly relates to reading comprehension, intelligence and general ability, please use the links below to find fun and engaging ways to enhance your child's understanding and expression of a variety of words.
